HR coils, sheets and plates
Hot rolled steel comes straight off the hot strip mill, with the dark blue-grey mill-scale finish. It is the cheapest flat steel per tonne and the starting point for every other flat product we sell. Use it wherever strength matters more than surface.

Grades and standards
- IS 2062 E250 (A, BR, B0, C)
- General structural steel. Beams, frames, sheds, machine bases and most fabrication.
- IS 2062 E350
- Higher strength for heavier structures, trailers, cranes and load-bearing parts.
- IS 1079 HR1–HR4
- Forming grades, from general bending (HR1) up to deep drawing (HR4) for pressed parts.
- IS 10748 Gr 1–5
- Strip for welded pipes and tubes.
